Looking at upgrade from 3570k to new cpu my picks are 

2600x

8400

8600k

8700k

mostly used for gaming any suggestions

8700K if you're baller and want the best of the best.

Not sure I'd called 4/6 of the CPU power as "slightly" weaker, it really depends what you are using it for.

 

Most games don't benefit much today from six cores, but when upgrading you really should be thinking about tomorrow unless you are happy to upgrade again in a year or two when games WILL be making more use as the next-gen consoles are likely to have much more comparable CPUs to the current PC six core parts.

 

CPU usage has really stagnated this generation due to the consoles having insanely weak CPUs.

budget for for new upgrades is 1200 pounds getting new mobo ram cpu and gpu 

i will be keeping my case fractal r4, psu evg 750,air cooler noctua nh 15d rest of old com[ponents being sold off 1200 plenty for this going for 1080, corsair 3000 ram 16gb and new cpu with either asus prime a or asrock extreme 4
