Debating weather or not if I should get A hdd because I'm running low on storage space on my 256gb SSD. However, I don't feel like spending $130 CAD for a 480gb SSD, which is the cheapest I can find. I only need around 400gb of game storage. A terabyte is a little over, but is more for less compared to an ssd.

What should I do?

First of all, don't use raid.

Second, if you raid an SSD with a HDD that will be slower than both an SSD and an HDD, so you might want to do some research on how raid works.

Just get a decent spindle drive for storage. Keep your SSD for your OS and start storing files on the HDD.

There's no place like ~

Just buy yourself a 500 GB hard drive and call it a day. Speed will obviously be slower than a fully-fledged SSD, but you have the benefit of cheap storage...

Although... I wouldn't call $ 130 for a 500 GB SSD expensive nowadays though...

I don't see what the RAID part of the question comes into play here... Do you want to RAID your 255 GB SSD with the 480 GB drive that you want to buy? o.O

Yes, I was planning to put it in raid 0.
