Will my sytem with 16gb ddr3 and a i7 2600k be able to handle a gtx 1060

Does any one know if my pc with a i7 2600k and 16gb ddr3 idk what mobo be able to handle a gtx 1060 6gb cause right now i have a 750ti

what mobo and cooler do you have?

the cooler is sadly the stock one because other one broke mobo gigaybyte z68 2133

then 1060 is fine, but nothing higher. You cant overclock because of thermal limts on both the CPU and mobo (VRMs will cook themselves)

I have a 2600K with 16GB RAM with a GTX 1070...and it works perfectly fine.

Stop and think a second, something is more than nothing.

I used a  i7 2600k with a GTX 1080. 60fps at 3440 X 1440 on a mix of high or ultra settings.

 

Replaced it with a i7 8700k because my 2011 vintage motherboard was dying. Sata 3 when first, then USB 2.

In its life time it used a GTX 570, GTX 670, GTX 680 4gb, GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980ti & GTX 1080.

 

The CPU will throttle on the stock cooler if overclocked. My solution was to have the case open with a small fan blowing into it.
