Should I buy ryzen 5 2600x or i7 7700k?

I cant decide between if I should buy ryzen 5 2600x or i7 7700k. Yes I do play games. I know i7 7700k is better for only gaming and ryzen 5 2600x is better for workstation and also around 10-15 less fps in gaming than the i7 7700k. Price don't matter to me because I would end up spending around same amount  for both of those. I know the i7 is expensive than r5 but since I'm already using i3 6100 the motherboard is compatible with the i7.

I7 7700k - $279.99

R5 2600x + ASRock X470 Gaming K4 - $339.98

R5 2600x + ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming - $369.98

If all you do is game and you already own a compatible motherboard than yeah the i7 7700K makes its sense, I'd still try buying an used one, not sure if your motherboars is Z chipset or not as you did not mention, if it isn't then a second hand i7 6700 or i7 7700 is a CPU good enough to a 1070 Ti reach its full gaming potential, most of the time at least lol

the 8600k will beat the 7700k in gaming and its cheaper, and has 2 more cores, but r5 2600 is good enough if you want to go 144+ fps with custom settings

please dont buy the 7700k if youre just gaming and if youre doing more buy the 8700k its  that much better than the 7700k otherwise buy the 8600k

Then the 7700K can't overclock, and you might as well get a i7 7700

With the 7700K, I wouldn't suggest buying it new. Just not worth it IMO. Try looking for a used one, or selling your motherboard and getting a B360 board and a locked i5 8400 if you want better gaming performance.

hi.

No one should buy the 7700K anymore

what's your budget/country? If you're in the US it costs almost the same as the 7700K to just buy an R7 1700 + ASrock Pro4 as current sales are pretty crazy

Isn't r5 2600x better than r7 1700? Yes I live in the US. I was looking at some microcenter r5 2600x and motherboard combo that's where i got the prices in main post.

It'll get a bit more fps due to clock speed, but at the cost of 2 cores, up to you which way to go, but ya I'd get a 6+ core CPU over a 7700K at this point.

Course it's only $300 ish to get the R7 + Pro4

If you want things like StoreMI+Better VRM it might be worth going X470, it's fairly neat tech.

If your considering a r2600 now you should consider 8600 or 8600 Intel six core beats amd six core.... Ppl wanna compare a amd 2700 to 8700k well amd is 8 core put core vs core up 8700 or 8600 vs r2600 and amd gets shit on that's a fair match.
