Do Uplay games launch faster on steam?

Hi,

Just wanting to know if there is any difference between buying Uplay required titles on steam or directly from Uplay. Also whats the difference in load times and security.

Cheers.

I think it's the same. I haven't noticed any difference. I just launch through Steam because fuck having to open a different app.

correct me if wrong,

but Uplay required games launched from steam just launches uplay and then the game. So an added step in between.

Buy the Uplay required games on Uplay. As Slottr says all it does is add another step.

I think it is slower because you have to wait for Steam to do its thing too.

As other posts have said, Uplay games are required to boot or passthrough Uplay if bought and loaded from other services.

My suggestion is buy the game through Steam (most often if not always cheaper) and then add the key into Uplay immediately. Whether or not they download faster on either service is not something I know, but it is easier to boot through one service. I would ask if it makes any difference to you whether it is 5 seconds or 10 seconds.

P.S. I do the same with the few Origin games left on Steam. Sucks that there is no such thing as one unified aggregate, but at least I don't have to worry about these games disappearing any time soon.

Owning a Uplay game on Uplay means you only need to launch from that client.

Owning a Uplay game on Steam means that you will likely launch from Steam rather than Uplay, so it'll be an extra step for it to display that you're playing that game on Steam.
