Gaming/Productivity CPU Needed

I'm in the market for a PC. I've got a dilemma choosing between a Ryzen 1600/Motherboard combo for $80 cheaper then a I5 8400 combo. I've got a set of DDR4 2400 16gb memory I would love to use in the new build. My plans for the PC will be Gaming/Surfing the web/Some lightt 4k video editing in the future. Also would like to upgrade my GPU (Currently RX480 4gb) to play 4k 60 in the future.

I'd save the money and get the Ryzen. @AskTJ is absoulutely right, but it's not worth the price premium to me. It might be to you.

Ehhh, it depends.

8400 will have better out of box performance, but unless the combo includes A320 chipset, you will be able to overclock both CPU and the RAM

Spanner throw into the works. If i can get the Ryzen 5 2600 and Intel i5 8400 for around the same price. What would be the better option with my ddr4 2400 ram?

Sorry for the questions.
