Hey guys. So I've been having problems with BF4 which is FPS. As far as I'm concerned, I am aware that my CPU may be bottlenecking my setup. I am considering to upgrade my CPU ONLY. The cpu i want to replace is an Intel Pentium G640; with an Intel 3570. I want to keep my old parts (mobo, ram, gpu) because I'm on a really low budget and I think upgrading my CPU is a major priority. Please give me help and thanks in advance!

A G640 is LGA1155.

A 3570K would work fine on it.

So he can't OC on a board that isn't Z77 which would make a 3570k pointless

I have a low power one as of now which I'll upgrade after getting a more better cpu. It's a GT610 1gb.

Yes thank you lol. And I don't plan on overclocking btw. That's why I specifically chose the 3570 being aware that the 3570k is mainly for overclocking on a Z77 mobo (which I clearly don't have).

BF4 is CPU intensive but I think you may want too look at a better gpu first as that is horrible

Get a 3350P, 3470, or cheapest i5 you can find if they're cheaper. Use the extra money saved towards a new graphics card.

Hmm. I'll take that into thought but I don't really care about the video quality of the game as of now- I'd rather consider performance>quality.

You will be running at the lowest settings and prob wont even get 60fps, your GPU is horrible, it's not even much of a jump from onboard.

I'd reccommend the 3570, 3470 or the 3550p(no internal graphics just the cpu itself, IF YOU REALLY HAVE TO). If i were you id actually keep the cpu and up the gpu first because that gpu is horrible. If you could i'd buy a 3470 (20 bucks more on newegg you can get the 3570) and a gtx 650 or something in that range. (The gtx 650 or gpu's in that range should be much better than the gt 610 :/) The 3570 does have a bit more better performance but if you are pure gaming and a internet browsing, even a little photo editing light video editing the 3470 should be fine.

Wow that helps alot. The things you explained of what the 3470 is capable of, absolutely fits my needs. Thanks so much!
