AMD Gaming Rig

Switch the 3gb 1060 out for a 6gb like this one. ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

?????

Do you remember the
21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Faster Memory (3000 or 3200) and Ryzen 5 2600.

Background: Running 1800x.  Ram speed makes a significant difference in gaming. The extra 2 cores do not.  Go with the 5 series for gaming, 7 is really for Multi tasking (gaming+streaming) or content creation.

The 1600 is still great as it comes with a better cooler than the 2600 and OP does not risk to run into the hassle of a non-updated motherboard that isn't Ryzen+ ready.

I agree. 1600 is a good idea for that reason.  A lot better choice than the 1700 for ROI.

Better mobo, better SSD. More gaming oriented CPU. Better GPU, better Ram. For 5$ extra you can grab a 8GB RX580 or 6GB 1060.

For $5 more he can get the Nitro+ 8GB instead of 4GB though.

Agreed on everything else though.

you don't actually need to go higher on your ram on this system, going from 2133 to 2666 will be a larger improvement than going from 2666 to 3200 and considering that going just to 3000MHz on the same kit will cost you another $40 NZD i thought it will be nicer to get a better case and Graphics Card

It's cheap because it's crap. Definitely not something for an RX 580.

We use it at my company to build 24/7 cctv servers and it works fine, I am surrounded by 10 systems with i8700 and VS550w

So you've actually measured that it's good? Or does "works fine" just mean that it hasn't blown up?

It's a low end group regulated PSU, so definitely not something you want to run on a modern PC.

:)

The fact that a PSU does not increase your FPS, it does not mean that you should cheap out on it.

it is good enough so we rely on it to power our products, for me it a good recommendation, I had vs450w for 4 years with 920 i7 and gtx970 and it worked really nice, I don't think thats it is BAD psu and should be avoided, it is good enough, with warranty from big shop for me it is worth recommendation

if you are not feeling comfortable then go cx, it is 20$ more and probably better psu
