The witcher 3 help

Hello all,

I recently bought The Witcher 3 and until now i was enjoying the game until someone mentioned there were a lot of spiders in the game...

This freaked me out because i have arachnophobia (fear of spiders). This is something i don't really like to talk about so please take this serious.

I recently saw a mod that changes the appearance of spiders ( https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1329/?tab=images ). But i have some questions about this mod.

If anybody uses this mod: What is so different about the main files than the other files since you have multiple files that give another appearance...

And also: Does this change the appearance of all the spider-like monsters in the game ? There isnt enough info about that so thats why i need to know for sure.

 

But I also want to ask this. 

Is there any way i just can remove the spider-like monsters in the game ? But not only the spiders but just every monster that looks like one.

 

And also...

If the second option isnt possible...

Any tips how i can avoid these spiders in the game ?

Maybe just don't play the game? Sounds like the easiest option for you honestly.

 

But there isn't that many monsters that look like spiders, and judging from the fact the mod has 4/5 different appearances, I'd guess it changes it for all the spider looking ones.

And tbf they don't really look like spiders anyway, they only have 6 legs for starters.

If the first one is enough to trigger your arachnophobia, the 2nd would still probably trigger it honestly.

Your best bet is messaging the mod author these question, as they made the mod and know what they removed (and what they didn't).

Yes i know not playing it would be the best option but i already bought the game and played more than 2hrs on it.

There aren't spiders, just a few monsters that resembles those but they are very unlike... I have no phobias so I do not know how much this really interferes with someone life but ultimately I back up the idea that if this is too much for you to handle just don't play the game, it isn't for you.

TW3 doesn't have a lot of spiders. I've played about 50-60 hrs and don't remember any spiders, just weird crab things. Although apparently there are spiders in the DLC Blood and Wine. Just avoid that expansion and you will be fine

Didnt know that the phobia was also triggered by games and stuff like that.

That being said, as some others also reminded, there arent many spiders in tw3, except in the blood and wine expansion (and there are not many). Totally worth playing the game, it is so good it may help you confronting the fear (not kidding, the blood and wine expansion is so good that you may want to play even knowing you may find some spiders)

 

Edit: apparently they are from the hearts of Stone dlc. So I guess is best to not get this dlc, because there will be spiders in some areas of the main map. The HoS is also great, but not as big and important (IMO) as the B&W DLC.
