less tearing on 144 hz or 240 hz with low fps

hello , so i have questions about 144 hz vs 240 hz ,   i have to choose between 144 hz benq XL2411P and 240 hz AW2518HF and its really hard to choose one over another , because i have more than 220 fps in games like csgo and overwatch so 240 hz will be better on games like that but i have horrible fps in game like pubg (around 90-100 fps) , im interested if low fps will look horrible on 240 hz coz of big difference (im buying freesync version but i have nvidea gpu) between FPS and hz or it still will be better than low fps on 144 hz monitor and if so does changing hz in screen settings to 144/120 on 240 hz monitor matter ?

p.s

yes i know there is no big difference between 144 to 240 but im using 60 so i want to jump  as high as possible

Sounds like 1070 and above territory? In your case I would go for 144hz WITH G-Sync. That should be a real jump up. Bit more pricey though since NVIDIA wants to see some revenue on every shit labeled G-Sync.. those di**heads.

(240Hz is just overclocked marketing bs anyway).

yeah im getting 1070 ti  , i heard g sync has some input lags and stuff and fps gamers not using it coz of that so ..

and i just checked price and 144 g-sync is more expensive than 240 hz freesync  or without sync lmao

well maybe , most of streamers/pros not using g-sync at all idk but maybe they have enough power to run it on 240/144

anyway ,  im still interested if i will get more tearing on 240 hz monitor with low fps or on 144 hz monitor

i am happy with 2411 with gtx970 but I would go dell 1440p165hz, Higher resolution really makes a difference and it has gsync so no tearing :)

Both will tear, unless you use vsync and your fps is above 144 but below 240.

mostly snakeoil. there might be some input lag, but tests have shown there isnt much if any difference between G-sync off vs G-sync on.

If you are worried about G-sync input delay you should be worried about keyboard input delay. which there practily isnt any. or else CS:GO profesionals would use lazer switches on their keyboards

Get 144hz and make CSGO not look terrible by upping the settings. If people weren't in denial about their own skill, they'd accept that 0.003ms "disadvantage" isn't the reason they died. I don't know why, but people are only reasonable about framerates when it doesn't involve CSGO.

there is a chance that i will get g-sync but most likely i wont so thats why im interested which will have less tearing

yeah but this dell is way cheaper than alienware and has far more value as 144hz is enough, so 165hz is a nice bonus, plus 1440p is the best resolution for daily use and gaming

@Nutri the best way to avoid tearing is running with either a G-sync monitor if youve got a Nvidia card, or Freesync if you have an AMD card.

Unless you're between 144 and 240, as I said, there will be no difference. Both will tear.
