Is building a pc easy

It is almost my birthday and I am going to buy some parts I have watched videos and all of that type of stuff but is it as easy as they say it is?

as ling as you do your due diligence, you should be fine. Also, if something doesn't seem to want to go in, don't force it.

The hardest part about building a computer (imo), is choosing proper parts.

It's not that hard tbh. There are tons of resources and you can talk to people on this forum if you run into any trouble. I would say the first one is kinda weird because you figure out how to do the small things that some don't really go over well. Like plugging in fans into the fam headers and making sure you plug the cpu fan into the cpu fan header. Honestly the most difficult part for me was the headers. The rest seems really easy the.

I would say the hardest thing about building a pc is choosing which pc parts you want to build it with. 

Actually putting the parts together is like building with lego once you get the hang of it, Just make sure you do your research for things like (pushing down gently on the ram to get it in properly) and stuff like that and you will be fine.

If the you've never built a PC, and you have slight OCD, hardest part is doing cable management and getting everything spot on. My grandma and grandpa (In their 60s) did it themselfs just with me telling them how. it's really easy! Don't expect it to be impossible.

First that PSU. Put CPU in, put the ram in, put the motherboard in, install the cooler. plug everything in along with the storage. Then fine fit the cables in places, put GPU in, and done.

 

We are always here and it's never ok to give up.

Building, although tedious, isn't too difficult; however, I'd recommend doing two things; making a parts list on this forum (You'll get lots of good advice and spend money better) and following some sort of build guide. Although components will be different, a large majority of the advice still applies, which may save you from making mistakes.

Building in an open test bench with no cable management is easy

 

Building in an ATX case without cable management is still easy, you just look for holes to get your cables through

 

Building in an ATX case with cable management is challenging, You will spend time trying to find the route for the cables that shows them the least from the front

 

Building in an ATX case with cable management and nearly as much parts as it will ever hold (fully-populating the drive bays, fan mountings etc) is difficult. This is what I faced and end up having. 

 

Building in an mATX case multiplies the difficulty, while mITX cases exponentially increases the difficulty.

For the most part, for a plain vanilla build, it is straightforward. The one part I struggled early on were the case i/o cables to mobo 

But once u set yourself goals/standards, like cable management, cable modifications, air flow management, even delidding, custom waterloops and radiator placement.  it becomes tedious and time consuming.
