Probably an AT 2020 depending on price but do you already have a mixer?

The whole point of XLR is using a mixer to control it.

Unless you need it for a camera? What are you going to use the microphone for?

Okay but like what do you need it for exactly? If it's a basic thing just get a relatively cheap USB microphone and you'll probably be fine.

What about the BM 800?
Unlike the Samsung Go mic it comes with a stand, pop filter and a shock mount at a lower price.
Would it be better?

As a stage hand, and as someone who has to mix and produce from time to time (not as a professional, but more of as an apprentice and for fun), AT2020 is actually pretty meh for the price when you can get something for cheaper and sound more well rounded than that. My microphone recommendation would be either CAD GXL 2200 or MXL V67G, though the latter is cheaper and you can get a boom arm and a windscreen (trust me, windscreen>pop filter, but the reason to get either one of those is because people kinda tend to forget that you should be 3-5 inches away from your microphone, which causes the harsh pops of the p's, t's, etc...).

SM58 the king of kings

There are better mics, such as the Shure Beta 58, Audix OM-7, Sennheiser E 935, Electrovoice ND96, and the AKG D5. Only reason to use the SM58 is around is because its somehow popular much like an NS10 in studios (though the NS10 got popular because one producer wanted consistency and had to buy NS10's whenever he can when he was asked to work on studios basically all over the world... and he even had to keep solving the same issues such as using paper on the tweeter, or was it the woofer. Point is, popular =/= best/great/good). Sound engineers have had to tune their systems mostly for the SM58 (as far as I know, wide cut at 4-5k and maybe a little shelf boost at 10k) because nearly everyone has it. Only good reason to get an SM58 is that its resale value is consistent and pretty much very close to retail value, even if its banged up. Its like what a Rolex is to drug dealers, the value is consistent.

And honestly, USB mics are meh in terms of long-term reliability (as well as resale value).

Yeah, agreed on the points about the SM58. I have one and I don't find it all that great. It doesn't pick up at lower volumes too well, wish I had gone for the Beta 58. I went with it because I solely wanted a vocal mic. I do have couple studio mics I use instead of it though.

I wish more stages use more of the Beta 58. Its honestly much easier to work with or just not do anything to it since it sounds clearer and has some kind of "pop" to it, which works great on female vocals and does maybe half as good for male vocals (but still noticeably way better than the SM58).

The AKG is not a good microphone. The Beta is a beta and the only major difference is the pickup pattern. The other microphones vary from double to triple the price. Im not going to compare a Porsche to a Hyundai yet you are allowed with microphones.

58s are tanks. You don't break 58s the 58 breaks what you dropped it on.

Whats more upsetting is you don't get the joke in my post. I realise its the internet but come on.

"Sound engineers have had to tune their systems mostly for the SM58" Just why bother commenting at all if you're going to say ridiculous comments like that. If any sound engineer is blaming a working microphone for it not sounding right they are not a sound engineer. if the polar pattern is suitable for use the microphone will be like 1% of what affects the sound of something.

Hell, how would I know? I've come across way too many SM58 fanboys defending it that its hard to differentiate between a fanatic and a joke, even with tone included or not, and don't even get me started with other things on the internet or even IRL. And speaking of the SM58, as far as I know, sound engineers don't blame the SM58 to sound right, but that doesn't mean they should be stuck mostly with something that's as good as a hammer and sounds like one.

Seeing all these comments u figgered out xlr isnt a smart thing under 100 euro. You should buy a samsung c01u pro for 70 euro. Probably the best mic under 100. Dont go with products from blue likr the blue yeti from 130 euro. The samsung sounds way better than the blue. I had both of those mics.
