Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe freezing rest of computer

Bought this game a few days ago with no issue,tried to play in windowed mode as there is no fast forward so might as well do some other stuff.The game runs perfectly inside the window,but evrey other window freezes and i can't click anything.I can snap back into my other tabs by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and the cancel tho.Any ideas to make it run like a normal window
