Why MAC edition cards are sold for FAR more $

I've seen on eBay that almost all the time MAC Edition GPUs are sold for far! more than normal prices. (Prices below are converted - GBP>USD)

For example: MAC Edition HD 7950 was sold for 430$ twice in UK while normal price was 100$ (other then MAC Edition)

MAC Edition HD 7950 was sold for 320$ twice in US while normal price was 110$ (other then MAC Edition)

MAC Edition HD 5870 1GB was sold for 195 $ in UK

Does MAC supports only these MAC Edition GPUs and not normal GPUs or they just being sold for to be MAC Edition?

Please do not take a current date into consideration as this results were recorded on somewhere mid 2017 - late 2017.

But I still think that those MAC GPUs are still being sold for much higher prices...

Macs block cards unless they have a special bios on them. It is usually possible to put the special mac GPU bios on a normal card though

As of macOS 10.13, they don't need to anymore.

Any RX 400 or RX 500 AMD GPU will work in an eGPU enclosure (Requires a piece of hardware not found on older GPUs).

Nvidia cards, not so much. Nvidia is still on bad terms with Apple xD.
