What Mini ITX should I buy??

Go to solution Solved by Peskanova,

this is the case that i'm talking about:

https://www.amazon.com/Cougar-gaming-QBX-Case/dp/B00ZV5YKY6

Hello fellow nerds,

Just sold my Razer Blade 14 and wanting to build myself a small form factor gaming PC for around the £1000-1150 price point.

Here is my build so far, https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/KiloAlphaIndigo/saved/jNB3FT

Other than the case I’m also going to be looking at tweaking certain things like RAM etc. I don’t care about i7 as it’ll just be used for gaming and no streaming, video editing etc. Just wanting as cheap as possible.

However I can’t decide on what case to choose. I want as small as possible without being too restrictive for cooling and not sounding like a jet engine like the Razer Blade I just sold. I understand compromise must be made for ITX but want to find the right balance.

Final 2 stipulations are it needs to look nice but doesn’t have to have tempered glass or RGB and want it under £150 (or under £100 if possible!)

>oh and it must fit a full sized 1070/1080

Current considerations:

Corsair 250D

Fractal Node 202

Thanks in advance.

Kai

You can get a better cooler for less. See if you can mount a Ryzen cooler on it if it can fit. If your planning on putting a full size GPU, plug in a riser cable and lay it sideways, like its mounted vertically.

Cougar QBX looks like exactly what you need. Other than that get an 8400 instead of a 7400.

I’ve been thinking about this and with the extra cost I don’t know if it’s worth it tbh

Wow thank you I’ve never heard of it before. Perfect price too, certainly a strong contender!

Was just about to suggest this case. It's a cheaper build quality than most, but it's still a very sold case overall, there's a lot of good features, pretty good airflow for its size and cna hold a good amount of hardware in it. It's hard to beat!

The 8400 is 100% worth it. 2 extra cores for $10 will go a long way

Drop the aftermarket cooler since the 8400 (and 7400 for that matter) can get away with the stock cooler and it's the same price

I actually thought Intel stopped shipping CPUs with coolers that’s why I added aftermarket one ? thanks for telling me that haha

Saved me there so I can look at improving other parts like RAM or SSD ?

That only applies to the overclockable K Sku's (8600k, 8700k, etc)
