Liquid Metal 4790k

Just a question about how to use liquid metal lots of videos show how to apply it to the cpu die and ihs for best results. However my question is what to use between the ihs and the heatsink do i need to use liquid metal to get teh same temps or is normal thermal paste the best idea. Haven't been able to find an answer would appreciate some help cheers.

For the most improvement possible you would use liquid metal.

Otherwise the regular thermal paste will be a bottleneck.

Your cooler needs to have a copper base plate or heatpipes though.

Dark Rock TF contains two nickel-plated aluminum heat sinks. Two fans are pre-installed, but a single fan assembly is also possible, offering further space savings and even quieter operation.

Liquid metal will break your heatsink due of gallium.

Aluminium plated heat sink meaning the fins the cpu block and heats pipes are nickle plated copper

The included thermal paste is fine and not much worse. Liquid metal is better suited under the IHS due to less pump out compared to traditional pastes.
