Debating Over ~$250 Monitor to Choose for PC Setup

Aepo

Hi,

I'm finalizing the setup for my first PC and I'm stuck in terms of monitors. I will run on a 1060 6GB with an Intel i5 8400 as a CPU. I plan to play both fast-paced shooters (i.e. CS:GO) and RPGs (i.e. Witcher 3). As such, I'm not sure which of these to choose. One is a 144Hz 1080p TN panel, the next is a 75Hz Ultrawide (2560x1080) IPS panel, and the last is a 60Hz 1440p IPS panel. As they're all priced similarly, which would you recommend? Is the loss in refresh rate worth it for the IPS' better image quality and colors? Or is the loss in color quality worth it for the refresh rate? Ultrawide or 1440p, and can I run most games on high/ultra at 1440p with my GPU? I'm very confused and can't decide, so I hope I can find a few answers here. Thanks! The three monitors are listed below:

LG 24GM79G-B - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824025521

LG 29UM58-P - https://www.amazon.com/LG-29UM58-P-21-UltraWide-Monitor/dp/B01B67KAQ4

Did you build the PC yet? If not what's the parts?

Probably just get the 1440p 144hz IPS display

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

No, the monitor is the last rig piece I have to definitively select before I buy the parts and build my PC. I'm going to be running a 1060 6GB with an i5 8400. Also, none of my options were 1440p 144hz IPS. That's WAYYY too expensive. My current choices are either Ultrawide 75Hz IPS, 1440p 60Hz IPS or 1080p 144Hz TN. Thanks for your help.

Then you should probably buy an R5 2600 as it's about the best value CPU right now

and with current pricing a 1060 doesn't make much sense, better off saving money with a 1050ti for now

this display is 1080p 144hz VA/IPS at $199, has free-sync so maybe look for an RX 580 that's on sale or something, I think RX 560s are still high in price.
