AMD 7970 GHZ - Should I buy another?

TechBlitZ

So I have an AMD 7970 GHZ which I have been happy with for some time and has met all of my current demands.

However now the cards are super cheap second hand (around £70-£100) I'm thinking of picking one up and running in crossfire. Mainly due to PUBG only getting around 60fps on minimum @ 1080p

If you thinking crossfire will be useless / not worth it then that's fine, but this is my only option of an upgrade atm as I'm not looking spend any more than around £100 on my pc at this time - I'd rather wait and do a full upgrade next year / end of this year.

Thanks for the help in advance:)

No, what I'd do is keep the money you have now and save up some more so you can buy a much faster single card in the future.

PUBG.....

I still don't understand why so many "bots" playing this game.

Texture is dull, performance awful, image quality is shit.

This game is already in it's final form, so the early access excuses no longer applied, but it still running like shit.

Just for your information, the most powerful GPU currently is 1080Ti, and yet it only get 80fps on averages sure with high settings at 1080p, let that sink in for a moment.

high settings aren't always the best in titles like pubg, lower settings may even give you a tactical advantage :)

and OP: I'd wait until your full system upgrade down the road, Crossfire and SLI aren't what they used to be and game support is kinda lacking, it's not worth it to buy another card.

Interesting...

I play WoW a lot also and my card does fine on medium settings 2560x1440 but feel with a second card I could crank the setting to maximum?

£100 sounds like a bargain for another 7970 considering 1 of them seems to hold up pretty decent even by today's standards...

if your card is worth £70-£100 where you are, try selling it for 90£ and spend the money on a used £200 card instead...if you can get your hands on an R9 390/390X/Fury or a GTX 780ti/Titan/970/980/1060 instead i'd rather do that move personnaly...
