How to run multiple of the same program at the same time?

I just saw a video on YouTube where this guy was running 5 CS:GO clients at the same time, and it's bugging me as to how he did it. He was on Ubuntu. Anyone know how he did it? (I don't want to boost on cs btw, I just found it intriguing).

If you can launch it in terminal, just have five terminal sessions up and launch it from there. In Windows, you can probably just go to where it's installed and launch the executable as many times as you want.

I'm assuming CS:GO doesn't have any "multi-instancing" detection though.

I tried just launching it on Windows, I can't run multiple instances.

The comments seciton of that video suggests a sandbox VM program like Sandboxie.

So the other game instances are virtualized.

Sandboxie causes VAC issues, so you can't connect to the servers while you're Sandboxie'ing

Does it say anything or it does it do nothing?

It says "Only one instance of the game can be running at a time."

That's why I went in with the proviso

I'll try the Terminal thingy, although I'd need to get CS installed first so that may take a while.

Have 6 computers. Use 5 of them for CSGO and stream to the 6th one

It's probably going to throw the same thing. Windows doesn't really care if an app has multiple instances up.

Yes but steam das. I think its also a open GL ting, im not sure but dont think DirectX supports 2 or more games op. I tried some years ago (when the R9 270X just come out) to run BF 4 and call of duty at the some time but give me some driver error with DirectX
