Yes that's true, but decisions like which framework or language you decide to use to create your program will have some consequences.

There is a reason why JS based encoders and decoders are slow as fuck compared to those written in C and assembly, and it's not because the JS ones are poorly written. It's because JS is not suitable for high performing code. That is the entire reason why wasm is being pushed.

Are you trying to say that building programs with Qt is slow and will cost a lot of money? Because that's not true. In many cases it will be faster than let's say using web standards like JS, HTML5 and CSS.

Why do you assume I am against people making money from software? Why do you say I shouldn't care about vcpkg being open source and cross-platform?

I am talking AAA titles. Most indie games or some are on everything

Marketing cost money. If they see that that a product or change only impacts a limited user base, none of this is done, and so it is "quietly" announced. This also allows you to do soft lunches of products, until the company is more convinced that the experience is good enough for the mass market.
