"if needed" Some people absolutely cannot stand to read subtitles and will only watch dubbed, hence the "if needed" it wasn't recommending dubs over subs, but adding on that they have decent dubs "if needed" in case OP ended up being one of those people.

Nothing to see here, move along

buy shitty hardware and build computers? i have had a lot of fun doing that and it can be pretty cheap

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

LAN parties, great fun, can be easy to set up (depending on the game) and can be a great laugh if with friends. You can also do many of these online just using discord or skype (which ever you prefer)

Board games, they can be great fun, RPGs like D&D, shadowrun or Nobilis Volume 1 (there is no volume 2) you'd want someone to DM, and they are pretty easy to pick up if you have a bit of common sense and you can find most rules etc. online

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, HOW DARE YOU RECOMMEND DUBBED VERSIONS! Original with subtitles (or raw) is obviously how you should watch anime...

When you are doing multiple things and are more listening to the anime than watching then it is often more helpful to have dubbed than subbed.

The owner of "too many" computers, called

Why are you multitasking when watching anime (or really anything)? Granted, I'd used to play Civ while watching a stream but that was because sometimes a turn can take over 5 mins as you wait for others to move all their units and decide what they're going to research next/religion they're going to start/policy to pick ect.

because I have work, or I wanna play a game, I do it with most YT videos as well, it's just background noise for me.

Music? That's what the majority of people use for background noise...

  • 3 weeks later...

When I was on chemo, playing chess with other patients would help me a lot. It didn't require anything particular that wasn't affordable. Also, I started writing novels that also helped me to get rid of the stress caused by the threatment.

I'm a girl, so, after finishing radiation and chemo (2 months after any eventual threatment), I couldn't go to the gym. Instead, I started running in the forest, because it would enhance my inner peace.

I hope that you will find yourself a convenient hobby! :)

Weightlifting.  You will end up looking better, having more energy, feeling more confident, and it may help teach you to push yourself in a way that you can apply to other areas of your life.  Also, its a lot easier to stick with than running as you aren't miserable the whole time(at least for the first few weeks) and it is easier on your joints long term (so long as you use good form).

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.
