Looking to build a pc

Hey,

 

I'm looking to put together a gaming/video editing rig over the summer, however, I'm new to building computers.  I'd like to put something together for not much more than $750 if I can help it but I'm not sure where to start.  I pieced myself a list together but it's a bit pricey for my budget.  I'm not sure where the best place is to budget cut.  Any advice is appreciated.

If you are planning to use it for video editing too, go ryzen.

The new ryzen cpu's launch in 6 days so if you can wait a week, wait.

PSU, overkill, 550W version is plenty.

Try to get an ssd, even if it's just a 120gb one. Just get one.

GPU, not a fan of the 3gb ones. Try to get a 6gb or an rx 570-580.

Generic build inserted.

You can change case to fit whatever you want and you have leftover budget for other goodies. This system is set for an upgrade path and isnt the best system you can get for your cash. i leave others to find those systems

DO NOT get a 4TB hard drive for your OS. Repeat DO NOT!!

 

It will be like a computer from 1995.

 

Get a small ssd (120GB) and use that as your boot.
