New build, need help/advice

Semper000

I want to build a computer mainly for gaming and light editing/streaming. I have read and watched videos and it looks like an i7-8700k is really good for gaming and streaming. So i would like a build with that CPU and a gtx 1070 or better if possible. my budget is around $1400 (United States). is this achievable? any recommendations or ideas would be really appreciated.

edit: i already have a monitor. its a acer predator at 144hz (1080p)

edit 2: also any suggestion on where to buy the parts for cheaper is welcomed

thanks to everyone who takes the time to help!

I would buy the i5 8600K which can easily OC to 4.4 gHZ and it is 6 core and 100 dollars cheaper. Keep the 1070, and get an nvme ssd and a nice case

I say it is possible but the CPU + GPU combo already makes up $900 of the build...

"May your frame rates be high and your temperatures low"

I misread titles/posts way too often--correct me if I don't.

but i have seen test where the i7-8700k is just better. will the i5 8600k be able to support streaming and gaming at the same time?plus editing?

thank you for your reply and advice btw

I think an 8700k and nice cooler would definitely do better than 8600k especially overclocked. I’m thinking that a 1070 is a perfect for this budget.

Do you have your heart set on an Intel CPU or do you mind AMD suggestions.

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

The i7-8700K is way to expensive also there are only Z370 mainboards for it out there and they are really expensive, you could go with an Ryzen and save some bucks get almost the same performance.

Ryzen and some Low Latency ram are pretty nice.

Ok, here's a virtual benchmark of both systems, side by side. Take these with a pinch of salt, these are pretty much saying how the system SHOULD perform, not how it WILL perform. It might perform better, then again it could perform worse. Just remember that and take it into consideration before deciding on parts.

Thats just a website and most of the people forget about the tweaking and stuff, a 1700x with low latency ram and some tweaks can beat the i7-7700K ^^'
