Metal Vs. Glass

I know metal phones can allow for heat to be distributed evenly to dissipate but I am not sure the same can be said for glass back ones. I have the Huawei Honor 8 and when it heats up, certain areas heat faster and stay that way for a while. Just from my personal observations from my device and my Dad's iPhone 7 plus, this leads me to believe that I should probably get a metal back phone next time I upgrade (I don't care about "wireless" charging, super fast charging FTW!). Is this true?

Phones have more performance than they need for most tasks, a bit of heat or throttling won't make any noticeable difference.

Unless you are always playing intensive games on your phone, in that case yeah metal is better.

Never got why people think they blew some obvious whole in a huge industry... Phone manufacturers definitely wouldn't put glass covers on phones if it destroyed the performance or made them overheat.

I don't like cases lol. My glass phone is in almost pristine condition without a case except for the dings on the metal parts in the edges.

I do play 3d games at my school (I have a lot of free time at my school) and it gets to sometimes 32-38c. If I browse through the web or Playstand for example, it does heat up a bit but nowhere near as much as gaming.

Glass is cool, so is metal. Heck plastic is even alright sometimes...

 

Glass is better though to be honest. Looks nicer. Also, wireless charging is an interesting feature. Like I mean I wouldn't get something just for wireless charging but it's nice to have that ability. To say the least, I wouldn't let the ability to wirelessly charge get too much in the way of deciding my next phone.

I actually measured how hot my phone actually got while playing a game  (both physically and with several programs), it reached a maximum of about 41c.

With what? The battery temp sensor? One of those cheap infrared guns? The only way to know would be a contact thermometer fit around the CPU or an expensive (adjustable) FLIR setup. No other method would tell you accurately.

well, my dad has a lot of tools since he works in the hardware area, drywall, finishing, and other things he takes as side professions such as electricity and plumbing. I also used software to see if there was any difference.
