no output from graphics card

This is how this happened:

when i turned on my pc, it worked fine for some time, about 10 mins. but after that the screen showed a solid white color. then i restarted my system and was watching LTT video on yt and again it happened but this time the color was green and audio was fine (on headphones).

then i turned off the pc and worked on my laptop.  in the evening when i turned on the pc i did the same thing back and after 2-3 restarts it stopped outputting video.  my mobo display is working fine but output through dvi port is not working on gtaphics card.

pc specs:

core 2 quad q8400

6 gb ddr3 in dual channel

250gb hdd

INNO3D gtx 1050ti.

mobo:  asrock g41m-vs3

Oh it was never ment as if our dumb or anything you would be surprised how many dont know that you can get parts that are deffective on arrival....

You could do the painstaking thing of removing everything from the case and do an "open air" test bench on the mobo / gpu box .. only connecting 1 ram / cpu/ gpu and keyboard... and try again to see if it boots... ive had cases where there has been a shortage in the mobo spacers that appeared after 2½ years

by dumb i ment u to know that i have done the basic procedures like checking driver update, plugging and unplugging peripherals, etc.

so now the situation after ripping everything off, cleaning them and plugging them back is that the card is detected, i unstalled all the drivers using DDS and installed them back. Display from mobo is working fine. But still no display from graphics card.

so should i assume that my card is dead ??

and a wierd thing also happened.

the max resolution of my monitor is 1600X900

but right now its showing 1440X900.

i dont know why !!

if you have tried it outside the case .. yes... what you can try is disabling the built in gpu and only run on pci-e

Check the output port on the GTX 1050Ti for any damage.

Are you able to try any of the other output ports on the graphics card (e.g. DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, etc)?

There is a chance that the card is defective from the factory, right from the get-go, but issues didn't show itself until after it's been used,

i tried running it on hdmi on my tv and it outputs a solid green colour with no hdd activity.

so the warranty on my card is applicable. right ?

Yes, warranty is most certainly applicable.

Be 100% sure it IS the card that is bad, though.

Otherwise, could end up with the same problem even with new card..

Okay so i got my card replaced and i m still facing the same problem.

I think the problem is with my monitor

It is showing black borders of about an inch on both sides (pic attached).

And also the resolution of screen has changed from 1600X900 to 1400X900.

There is no 1600X900 in the resolution menu.

This pic is when i m running on onboard graphics. And also i device manager it is now showing my monitor as microsoft basic display adapter and not smb2030.

Resolution is lower because on board graphics most likely do not support the resolution you want

Had something similar happen to me few days ago (but I was replacing CPU cooler and video signal from graphics card was gone after re-assembling PC), the problem was PCI Express slot going kaput.

What is your resolution when you right-click on your Desktop, and click on Display Settings?

You should have the option for 1600x900 (recommended) -- along with a bunch of other resolutions.

No i was only getting the 1400X900 option.

After ripping everything off and trying to run on mobo box the output worked and i also got the 1600X900 resolution when the graphics card started to work suddenly.

But after a few seconds i got corrupted display.

And after restarting it appeared at the start screen.

And after giving up on it and putting it back in case it stopped working again.

I don't know what the heck is going on with my system.

The chance of two cards being defective is really low.

Are you able to try with a DIFFERENT HDMI cable, or try with a DVI cable instead?

It could be a cable problem...hopefully not a monitor or motherboard problem.

My monitor is a bit old so it only supports dvi and vga, not hdmi.

And yes i have tested it on both hdmi and dvi and got the same results(no output).
