How can you convert an MKV format to MP4?

So, Google Drive cant read MKV (Thanks google), is there a way I can convert it to MP4?

I believe MKV can simply be renamed into MP4, at least on macOS that works.

It would depend on the video.  MKV is just a container so if the video is actually an mp4 I can see that working, otherwise there would likely be issues.

There is a prompt telling you that it might break the file, but thankfully all the files I have worked with have been native MP4s

Well it's not like changing the extension can actually break the file, you'll just trigger the program to interpret it differently.

Yeah that is another possibility. I know many programs in Linux work like this - often it will ignore the extension entirely and just check the file header to determine what it is, and then reads it appropriately.
