I have that exact monitor you are talking about. Honestly I haven't noticed any ghosting whatsoever, but taking a picture reveals a bit of ghosting:

Honestly I'm super super happy with it, colours are a bit washed out and the non adjustable stand is a bit of a bummer but for this price I can't complain whatsoever.

The cheapest 144hz G-Sync monitor here is A$500. plus shipping.

This thing is A$200, free shipping.

More than 2.5x the price? "some extra".

No doubt its a premium feature but for my part it payed out so hard. Especially wi tha gtx 1060 that cant push 144hz all the time. #tearingincoming.

I got my acer Predator z271T for 400$ instead of 800 on amazon. That was a steal

i do have the comparison. By simply turning G-Sync off.

I do never want to play without G-Sync anymore. Without G-Sync, it's impossible to get ANY Game smooth for me (except v-sync with a clean 144 fps lock etc). No matter what, there is always slight stutter, frame skipping, tearing, or whatever.

Of course, it depends on how a person is sensible to tearing/stuttering. I am too much sadly, so i notice G-Sync immediately. Whenever i played with any settings, or reinstalled the Driver and G-Sync was suddenly off, i instantly noticed the game wasnt smooth anymore.

And on my previous 1080p / 60 Hz screen, there was literaly only 1 option to have my games smooth: V-Sync On + clean 60 fps lock without any drops. ANYTHING Else is not smooth. For me at least.

Still, for 199 bucks, it's perfectly fine to not have G-Sync (that starts with 400~ bucks, and i would not consider any 1080p g-Sync monitor. Start with Dell s2417dg WQHD Monitor, as it's not much more expensive as Full HD models).

Having 144 Hz instead 60 Hz already does ALOT. Having G_Sync on top of that is kinda just a super sweet cherry on your icecream.

A Volkswagen Golf/Passat isn't suddenly a bad Car, because a Mercedes S63 is a higher quality one.^^

Well considering i've never even had a 1080p montior and im running 1680x1050 at 60hz 5ms i think it will be a major upgrade while keeping in budget! so from 1680x1050 at 60hz 5ms to 1920x1080 144hz 5ms is still a major upgrade for still a cheapish price. i would get g-sync but i don't have that much money and prefer just getting this and then get a g-sync in the future, (i have a 2 monitor setup) @Darkseth @joshuawi99 @BenR31415 @Droidbot @deXxterlab97

hey guys, so i recently got some spare money and was looking at a monitor,

i currently have a dual monitor setup using 1680x1050 at 60hz 1ms and i wanted to upgrade one of them (my main monitor) to 1080p

i was looking at a 144hz 5ms 1080p monitor with freesync for $200 AUD (using a 1060 but i am not paying extra for g-sync)

i also saw that for the same price i could get 75hz 1ms 1080p with freesync but is 5ms still okay for gaming?

I want a 1080p monitor that's under or just a little over $200 AUD ($30 AUD max over) and i mainly need a display port, hdmi, and audio like what the 144hz offers. leave your suggestions below please

I think you mean 1080p 144hz TN

Or 1080p 75Hz IPS?

Because in that case I would go for IPS over TN any day, you aren't going to notice any real difference in pixel response time
