You'd have to check. Verizon is really locked down as far as a network goes, and often phones won't work without a little elbow grease.

It's best to check and see if other people got the phone you're thinking about using to work. IIRC they vet a lot of their phones.

Unfortunately I don't believe it's that easy with Verizon.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. As long as it has all the bands required by Verizon, then it should work fine.

Yeah, just keep in mind it'll usually only work in that general geographic area.

E.g. some chinese phones (even unlocked) won't work in NA because the hardware simply doesn't allow it.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Ah, apparently it's much easier than it used to be. Haven't looked into it in ages.

Okay so I know both Verizon and us cellular are both cdma, what I'm wondering is if I can use my unlocked us cellular phone on Verizon or att since it also has gsm bands

My advice is check the phones manufacture first. When I purchased my One Plus 3t its explicitly stated it wont work on Verizon or Sprint. Basically the easy way to tell is look at what type of radio's the phone has (GSM vs CDMA), it could have both, as Verizon has sold "World Phones" have have both radio types in it. You also need to see what bands they have. For example in the Metro Detroit area, T mobile uses band 12 for LTE, so when I purchased my One Plus 3t, I made sure it had band 12 support.

As others have stated, Verizon's network is locked down tighter than a snare drum. Though I have a feeling after they shut down their 3G network in a year or two, that they will be more open to unlocked devices. As 4G LTE is a GSM standard.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
