pcie 4x 1080Ti

Hey I have a strange question:

im planning on Building an super small PC and I want to juse an STX-Mainboard.

Cause of the lag of PCIe connectors i want to ask if i can juse take a M.2 to PCIE 4x Modual ( https://goo.gl/AK9geg ).

Can a GTX 1080 or TI Mini from Zotac work with PCIe 4x?

Technically, it will work with PCIe x4. Physically, it won't fit in the slot so it won't work.

But it might not be worth getting a 1080 TI because 4x will bottleneck it

If its x4 v3.0 you'll be fine, a slight bottleneck.

Depends on his budget, a 1080 ti on 4x is still faster than a 1060 on a 4x
