GPU mining of any crypto

Hi guys,

 

Quick one for those more experienced in today's crypto situation.

 

I have a Radeon HD 6970 and an HD 7950 sitting around gathering dust, are there any profitable or viable mining opportunists still out there for small scale GPU mining? I'm think alt coins of some type.

 

And obviously I want it to make financial sense after electricity cost. I have a decent motherboard and CPU etc also lying around (AMD) to kit it out.

Well, concerning power consumption of these cards, you unfortunately won't make profit.

You'r wrong, but considering the recent drop in bitcoin price mining with only 1 gpu would be kinda meh/, also https://whattomine.com/ is your friend

It all depends on the electricity costs in the country he lives in. In many places running a 2 gpu rig is not profitible.

270X makes bank for power consumption but 580 is still king. You could send those GPUs my way. I'll pay for shipping

Just keeping this here as a Hi profile says Ireland, from memory it should be around $0.2 per kwh, so for a 7950 (200w) running 24/7, that's around $1 per day.

 

So it could be profitable if he can really get $2-2.5 per day. And unless your 2 GPU system are GT1030 or RX550, not sure what you mean by "In many places running a 2 gpu rig is not profitable."

 

I have an HD7870 that is still profitable even after the recent drop in the market.
