use a calculator for wattage and put in all the components you have, see if 240W Is enough

Do this,

And then honestly, upgrade the PSU. It's likely a fire hazard or close to.

don't.

please just get a new power supply, and not use OEM one that'll explode

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

It's not going to literally explode, but it's not good quality and PSUs have been known to take components with them when they die.

I don't think even a Raspberry Pi draws 240W honestly.

240w is such a specific number. Most low end power supplies start off at 250 to 350w. But when then it's still a hazard. Do everyone a favor and upgrade to a power supply that doesn't scream, "I'm going to burn you and everything you love"

You cant really replace a PSU like in my case on HP 8300 elite SFF where the HP 240w is proprietary and L shaped, you could put a bigger PSU but with an Ebay adapter for similar HP Z230 workstation with the same psu and make the bigger ATX/SFX PSU external

Heres a pic of my rig

Over calculated.

To OP: just get a new PSU, it's enough but HP PSUs are all terrible.

unless it randomly happens to be a delta thats overbuild like a mofo  xD but its not, because its a HP machine

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
