Posted February 3, 2018 I found a 200$ pc on gumtree with these specs: i5-4670k Samsung evo 840 250gb ssd 16gb ddr3 ram 430cmx power supply Basically, just needs a graphics card. I was wondering, should I grab this one and pair it with a 1060 or build a new pc completely from scratch? Is 4670k still not completely obsolete? My workflow includes working with adobe applications and on free time I game some older triple A titles and PUBG (obviously).
 Posted February 3, 2018 Slap an OC on the cpu with a good card and you've got a pretty badass computer. Kubuntu 22.10 Ryzen 7 5700X RX 6700 XT

That's what I was thinking about but will the same cpu be okay for a couple more years? Cause as of now it is already like 4 years old
 Cause as of now it is already like 4 years old how old it is, is not what you should be looking at. i have a 4 year old CPU and i run all titles maxed out or high at 60fps even pubg i run at 60-75fps. i have the 4690k a lot of older CPUS like the i7 4790k still dominate even tho it came out when that i5 did if you buy used look at how long it was used for because time kills a CPU if its on, if the CPU is new in box then even if its old you dont have to worry. Posted February 3, 2018 Probably a good deal, the only worry might be longevity of parts that are already a little older. That being said, you couldn't really build a better system for the price of a 1060 and $200. It's a gamble, but even if some of the components fail you could probably find used replacements to bridge the time gap until it's time to upgrade. Posted February 3, 2018 that's a pretty good deal for $200, get it and a used gtx 970 or gtx 1060 and it'll work for AAA games at 1080p. Posted February 3, 2018 Grab it, then get a GTX 980 or 1060 or RX 580, and then a new CX450M or Pure Power 10 and you'll be set for awhile.
