Thanks mate. Is 2-year warranty an issue? Black offers 5 years if I'm not mistaken.

depends, how often do hdd's break down

some say they get bad breaks

some say they are the boss with no problems

maybe buy store warranty at cashier

or dont, I wouldnt get extra warranty, its pure profit for the store

As far as I know the thing goes like this:

WD Blue is almost the same with the WD Black when it comes to speeds(I talk about 7200rpm/64mb cache blue/black) when HDDs are 500gb or 1tb.

If you want something much bigger when it comes to capacity and higher speeds you'll go with the black. There is where it makes the difference. At higher capacity Black performs better than any HDD. But also Black is a bit more noisy.

Thanks. I only need 1tb, so I think I'll go for Blue.

My local shop is selling 7200rpm version of the Blue. Do you think FireCuda is worth an extra $45?
