I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

@Nexblitzer

It never hurts to get the latest drivers from AMD.

Go to http://www.amd.com

Click on Drivers and Support in the top menu

On the right, you have "Manually select your driver" , then select  Chipsets ,  AM 4 , B350 and your operating system and then click on Display Results. It will give you the latest driver for that operating system.

The motherboard manufacturer (Asus) may not update that drivers page on their website after... let's say 6 months or a year. But AMD will always have the latest version there on their website.  The motherboard maker and model doesn't matter, all that matters is that it's an AM4 motherboard with the B350 chipset, all motherboards using the B350 chipset use the same driver provided by AMD.

In your case, the latest chipset drivers on AMD's site are version 17.40 released on the 16th of this month, while on Asus's website the drivers are an older version from July 2017 (so around 6 months ago).

Droidbot is partially right in that Windows will automatically install some drivers, but often they're drivers that they (at least in theory) thoroughly check for stability and errors, which can take weeks or months, so often what's installed automatically by Windows can be weeks or months old. In the case of graphics drivers, such drivers installed automatically by Windows could lack the latest "optimizations" for recently launched games.
