Motherboard for i7 8700k

Looking to build a new PC, decided on the i7 8700k and was originally going to go with the Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 but I want to get the G Skill Trident RGB ram and I think the RGB around the dimm slots on the mobo might be a bit too much with the RGB ram.

Looking for a good gaming motherboard around the £200-£210 mark.

Any suggestions?

Asus Prime-A

The ROG-F ain't a bad pick either, most Asus boards aside the Prime-P and TUF line up are guaranteed picks.

What's the difference between the Z370-E and Z370-F?

Can't you wait a couple of weeks??
Because of the Security Issue it is a good idea to wait and see what is still coming out under the carpet.

I could but from what I've read, the 8700k won't be hit too hard, for gaming wouldn't even notice it?

I've been debating between Ryzen 7 1800x and i7 8700k for a few days because of this security issue and performance downgrades and stuff

Actually, looking at that graph I may up the limit and go for the ROG Apex, it's only about £15-20 more expensive than the Hero. https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Intel+Socket/Socket+1151+-+Intel+Z270/ASUS+ROG+MAXIMUS+IX+APEX+Motherboard+?productId=67513

Actually, saying that. When you add the IX Apex to the b£2 more expensive so no brainer really.

APEX IX (z270) doesnt work with Coffeelake. you need Apex X (z370). Its more like a £70-£80 difference.

But the ROG Maximus X Apex is also my personal choice so far, i dont like E-ATX so much but yea i think its maybe the best z370 board.

The Hero also isnt that bad, its ATX, it has 4 DIMM slots also working with a great bandwidth of fast memory even when 4 slots are populated. Just has no ps2 connector (which i would want/need) and ofc worse VRM temperatures then the APEX (but every board has worse VRM temperatures then the Apex atm afaik).

Went with the Hero in the end, just preferred the aesthetics and the 4 dimm slots.
