Looking for a new mic

Tobee

Hello ltt-community!

My gf just got me the hyperx cloud 2 for christmas, because she thought my mic is done. (i fixed it a couple times with tape)

What she didnt know was, that i have beyerdynamics headphones. Now i am looking for a good mic in the same (maybe a bit more) price range as the hyperx cloud2.

I thought about getting the yeti, but im afraid it will pick up too much background noise. (my gf playing xbox/watching tv in the background)

Whats your opinion? Any recommendations? maybe a non-omni-directional mic?

thanks in advance!

greetings tobi

i have a snowball ICE and im extremely happy with it, sits on an improvised boom a few cm from my face and sounds pretty good

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Yeah I just got a snowball ICE as well, works pretty good for discord and you can pickup an arm for like $12. I'm sure it picks up plenty of background noise though so you'd probably have to adjust your settings in discord or whatever you use so those noises aren't picked up as much.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂

from what i read, the yeti has different settings

  • omni-directional (ball)
  • bi-directional (figure 8)
  • uni-directional (cardioid)
  • stereo

How the hell is it a few centimeters from your face! Mine is like 20 cn away! It’s too quiet and the stand only has one option.
