my pc is on fire

so hi!!

I bought a my PC just 2 months and well... my graphics card gets really really hot...

Its a GTX 1080 TI aours EXTREME edition with 3 fans.

It gets very hot when i play rainbow six sidege and ghost recon wildlands for example.

It gets to more than 50C, and it's not even on  "ULTRA" settings.

Please. Help.

Video cards are designed to handle much higher temperatures compared to regular processors.

 

It's perfectly normal for modern cards like your GTX 1080ti to reach temperatures up to 70-75c.

 

The AMD RX 570 I just bought is designed on purpose to adjust its fan rpm to only work harder at cooling the card once the temperature reaches 72 degrees Celsius.

It constantly spins the fan up or down to keep the temperature there and if the temperature goes below around 60 degrees Celsius it just stops the fan to make the card more silent.

50C is nowhere near really really hot. I have an EVGA 1070 SC and it's usually around 60-65C. If you really want to drop your temps even more try adjusting the fan curve, make sure your case has good airflow and enough fans to push enough air.

50Cº is not considered hot, above 80Cº is.

50C isn't even close to the max temp that the 1080 Ti will begin to throttle. I believe that Nvidia has placed a 90C max temp for Pascal.

In a way it starts throttling at 53Cº already if you count GPU Boost 3.0 mechanics... obviously not what OP has in mind though which is the limit safe temp, Pascal cards on their BIOS lists 94Cº and only severely throttles or shuts down past it.
