Posted December 14, 2017 First time i post a topic here, so sorry if this does not live up to the rules and demands. I ran out of space on my main drive and started looking into cleaning a bit up and deleting unused programs when I stumbled upon the size of my windows folder. Posted December 14, 2017 My first place to look is at the WINDIR/WinSxS directory. This directory stores downloaded windows update packages and the space accumulates overtime. Posted December 14, 2017 Author That folder takes up 7 gb but it didn't really do anything to do the advanced disk cleaner. Posted December 14, 2017 Run a tool like Treesize Free and see where the space has really gone. Hidden files aren't listed or counted by explorer by the way.
