Have FreeSync Monitor: GTX1050Ti or RX460?

With the low fps you're gonna get it will be more beneficial to have variable refresh rate than a few more fps.

Hi! I'm planning a smol light gaming build around the ML09.

Basically the last piece of the puzzle is a low profile GPU.

So far there are tons of LP 1050Ti's available here, tthe cheapest one being the Gigabyte at 153$. It seems that it is the best option atm.

HOWEVER, I do have a FreeSync monitor and will only be playing some old games (e.g. BioShock series) and a few online ones (OW, LoL, HotS, PUBG).

The only LP AMD GPU available would be the RX460 for around 128$.

I do know that the 1050Ti is probably better for all games. But from the benchmarks it seems they only differ by 5-10FPS.

Thoughts?

Karamo

Just for having a FreeSync monitor, I would recommend the 460, or even a 470 if you can find one cheap enough.

but yeah the variable refresh rate with a slightly lower fps would look better than slightly higher fps but not variable

If I could actually find a store selling it, I'd recommend this:

https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-560-4GT-LP-OC/Specification

RX 560 has more shaders than 460, making it a little less wimpy than a 460.

oh cool I didn't know a LP 560 existed. Sadly I don't think it's available here. Anyways I'll give it a few months maybe it's about to be released here or smth.

could you use a gpu riser to fit a full size gpu?

it doesn't look like it. I did some research and it doesn't look like full-size GPUs will fit.

anyways this is still in the planning phase. I might just forfeit the plan altogether and buy me a shiny RX580 ahahaha

If you do decide to go for an RX 560, be careful. It looks like AMD has cut down the stream processors in some models.
