Has anyone ever done 2 separate loops in their rig.

Asking because  I also want to cool my gpu but the EKWB aluminium block doesnt support the Gtx 1080 g1 gaming so I want to make another loop just for my GPU. Good or bad idea?

since you went with the aluminium series I would imagine you'e somewhat budget consxious. In this case I would opt to get an AIO instead of a full loop for your GPU.

Then im stuck with a perfectly fine cpu only loop which id have to re-sell.

Ah, didn't realize you had the aluminum gaming kit already.  I would probably sell the aluminum kit and get a full copper loop for the whole OC as it'll still cost you less

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

A whole copper loop based on the config on ekwb costs about 630€. The kit i bought is 170€ and plus 462€ for the gpu loop still makes it pretty much even besides the 2 pumps and reservoirs. And the p400s has a lot of space.

Having two will be the same overall. Just more work and more money. Then more space being needed but nice for when and if you upgrade gpu's often.

I've seen tons of builds with dual loops, they look quite nice. If you have the room and budget for it, I'd don't see much reason against it.

You could try Thermaltake, There only other company I know of that makes aluminum blocks.

A dual loop will cost you more since its double everything.I'd just replace what you got with copper and maybe run 2 rads depending your cooling needs. aluminum is ok for a starter kit but every copper based block on the market will out cool it so keep that in mind.

the problems is you cant buy aluminum fittings or other blocks, also same go for copper. its so hard to get everything in the loop the same material. like 99% of fittings is brass covers with paint. yes there are copper and aluminum rads, i only found 1 copper fitting and its a barb. and you might not get a copper wb for the gpu it might only come in nickel. also is the pump in that aluminum kits only for aluminum?

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx

also i edit post alot because you no why...

EK does sell Aluminum fittings.

As long as it's in the same class there is no risk of mixing metals.

Brass is made from copper.

As for nickel ( Cu-Ni ) are alloy's from copper.

Pure copper can be very expensive.

They make aluminum radiators. Their blocks are copper. (i mean wtf right)

ThermalTake choices make no sense what so ever, they claim you can mix the parts without any issues. That's been proven wrong already with photos of someone used there rads and blocks together. You shouldn't even be looking at TT if you want to watercool.

hmm ok dint no ek made the Aluminum fittings. last i heard was they were going to.  ok so if i understand it he got a Aluminum kit for the cpu? and wants to add a gpu to it. ether sell what you got an go copper, nick. or use an aio for the gpu. as of yes i dont see an  Aluminum block for the g1. or get a different gpu.
