1920x1080 for a large monitor?

SwiftXShadow

I have the specs to use 2k or 4k  but since i still find games that can drop my fps below 60 with 1920x1080 (witcher 3 rarely, fallout 4) then i dont really want to go to 2k or 4k till technology advances a bit more so anything can be run on a stable 60.
So i am thinking of getting a 32 or 28 inch monitor, but i was thinking since the amount of pixels i will have will stay the same 1920x1080 will the quality drop be noticeable form like a 24inch monitor, in gaming?

kinda yeah depending on how much you care about it and how close you are to your screen. I personally don't think a 32" looks good at a monitor viewing distance

    MSI B350M mortar arctic

I would stick between 24 & 27" for a 1080p monitor, since most of those have the best of other features as well such as. 5MS or less refresh rate, IPS panel, good viewing angles, good color accuracy. I've been told that going over 27" will produce visible pixels even if you're not sitting too close. Truthfully though you'll only know by testing one in (I hate to say this) Best Buy. Even if their colors, viewing angles & build quality really sucks. Just to get an idea of how close you can sit to a given size until you notice the pixels.

i have a gtx 1080 so i guess 2k could be an option but like i said even on 1080 i find games that drop below 60 fps.

What would be the highest sizes to go with on 2k

I'm sorry I don't know, I've actually made a promise to myself that I won't ever go over 1080p until mid end hardware can always push 60FPS at it. If I could upgrade from my 900p very basic Acer TN panel it'd be to what I previously describe to ya.

U'll need like 1080ti. although it depends on the game, On heavy AAA title 60fps average at max settings is a bit hard to achieve with 1080

To answer your question there is something called Ppi or pixel per inch(pixel pitch) its what it is the amount of pixel per inch.

So to compensate for a large sized monitor they will use a wide pixel pitch resulting in a blurred looking less crisp images if u sit close from it.

Meaning u'll be able to notice a gaps between pixels.

I'd say 30inch is way too big for 1080p monitor even for 2k its stll too big imo.

The proper size for full hd it should be around 19-24inch for Qhd u could do from 20-27inch or 30 if u dont mind the wde ppi or you are sitting far away from your monitor like 2-3meters.

I game on a 4k screen with my 1080 and it's fine. Remember that you don't have to turn on AA anymore and can probably also lower some other settings without noticeable difference in image quality.

1080p for 32" is ridiculous, QHD minimum!

Well yes I did obviously. But depending on the game, I'm still fine with 45fps and up.

Ofc in fast shooters 45 sucks, but for example Witcher won't be much of a problem. For me at least.
