Looking for a good FPS game

I'm looking for a new FPS game, I have played CoD all way from CoD4, I recently got Ghosts, and to be honest it sucks, at least the PC version of it does in my opinion. I have played BF3, but I don't really like the BF series, in my opinion it's just to slow paste.

So basically I'm looking for a CoD4 like game (not the actually CoD4, to many campers).

I know you said you don't like BF, but I have heard the new one is pretty sick! Ill be getting it soon because all my friends will be. Which is really the only reason I game anymore. lol. Roll out in a squad of friends, yup. Winning.

Well, I could tell you the same thing, I don't see CS as a real shooter, just a kids game. I have tried BLR, but none of my friends liked it, and basically that's a big part of the experiences, and make a FPS game a lot more fun.

CS sucks, but valve games do have a very fast pace to them. Try Combat Arms ( free ) or planetside 2 ( free ). 

 

Remember, battlefield 4 has infantry only modes including domination, tdm, squad rush etc... Just get battlefield, it outclasses everything. Oh, and crysis 3.

& No, counter-strike is the only shooter I've ever considered to take any skill. I'm semi-pro for CS but when I touch BF and CoD I stomp kids like no tomorrow because it's RIDICULOUSLY easy. If you wanna have fun with friends, play whatever game they wanna play, doesn't matter. Also next time mention games you've already played or don't like, and the part about your friends would have been useful to know before I wasted my time with my first post.

p.s. I would strongly recommend Blacklight: Retribution, and their zombie map is pretty cool, but everything else is good too though!

He wanted a fast paced game, and this offering costs him nothing. If he likes it,he'd probably like counter strike. But let's not kid ourselves here, he'll probably get destroyed in CS and never wanna touch it. 

 

Balancing issues aside, combat arms is still a fun, fast paced game and I still play it from time to time without issue ( except for hackers, but I play in servers with elite mods so it doesnt matter, they get booted or get scared away before entering ). 

 

TBH, if he hates cod and battlefield I don't think any shooter is going to be right for him. 

 

Oh wait, OP, get unreal tourney 3. That game is loads of fun.

I don't disagree, but I still have fun running and gunning with my g36 tap fire king! Nexon is a terrible company and I'd never support them with real money, but for a free fps I think it's pretty good ( or was, it's been a while ). 

 

Agreed, Battlefield is great, but I wouldn't call it easy. There are alot of elements to master, especially for a new play. CoD is great on console, bad on PC IMO. It works fantastically as a lone wolf, twitch based shooter. But, a truer statement was never made BF > Cod

Ghosts IS bad, you're not hallucinating on that front. The best CoD games ever were Modern Warfare and World at War. 

 

Forget battlefront, go for BF 2142 or Planetside 2 ( this game really is awesome as hell for a f2p ). Battlefront 3 will be amazing, undoubtedly! Titanfall won't be out until Q1 next year, and I don't know if it's launching on PC but I assure you this...it'll be a worthy purchase. Looks fun!

 

I'd recommend the Left 4 Dead games as well as Borderlands. If you're not just looking for mp for the love of god please get all the bioshocks

Can confirm Titanfall is launching side by side with Xbox One and 360 in Q1.

 

OT: A good shooter? How about Red Orchestra 2? It's insanely hard, but fun.

I have been playing for five months and I have only encounter like four hackers so far, no one hacks in ca anymore. But it used to be full of hackers like a year ago though.
