If it's for a breaker box, that would be max for the box. Not necessarily what you're receiving from the power company.

Yeah each breaker is a circuit and the number is the amps.

They represent circuits which have multiple outlets usually or specific appliances like a dishwasher

Every electrical thing in your house is on a circuit. Each circuit has a circuit breaker with an amperage rating. The breaker will trip in the case of an overload to protect the wiring. 

 

The 125 amp is the maximum amount of current that the panel is rated to service.

Haha yeah, but with so many youngin's on the forum I can't help but think he's super young if he doesn't even know how the panel works or what the numbers mean...which makes me think he shouldn't be anywhere near it
