Is a new I5-8400 enough to justify a gtx 1070?

So I know it is enough for it, but would it be bottlenecking the 1070? Because to be honest I was originally going with a 1060 but wanted to take advantage of my monitors refresh rate plus better game performance obviously.

Absolutely! the i5-8400 is a BEAST! Like I know you can't overclock it but its price to performance ratio is arguably the best of coffee lake

It is enough for anything at 100 to 120hz for the most part. Only some AA games might be pushed higher than the locked clock of the 8400 given really shitty details on the 1070 but those should be fringe cases not even worth exploring
