Displays Go Black and GPU Fan Kicks Up To 100%

msm202

So this happens randomly when I'm on my computer, no specific correlation to gaming or anything. My computer monitors will go black and the GPU fans kick up to 100% speed. The system does not crash because my razer keyboard RGB continues to work. I'm not overclocked and I know it is not over heating. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Specs:

Ryzen 1800x w AIO Cooler

ROG Crosshair IV Extreme

GTX 1070 ASUS Strix

Corsair Vengeance 3000 mhz

850 watt EVGA PSU

Thanks!

Sounds very much like a driver crash of your GPU driver.

I recommend to uninstall your GPU driver using DDU (Display Driver Uinstaller) and downloading the latest version off the NVidia homepage.

Here is the link to DDU:

Thanks! I'll try that. It does sound like a driver error...

I have this issue very very occasionally too, except all my fans start spinning at 100%..

To me it happens when I switch from desktop to a full screen game that is in any resolution, that is not native to my main panel (which is 4K).

I have not found the fix to this issue..

Yeah it seems like a driver issue for the GPU.. My full screen is fine, though. This happens to me at least once a day.
