Stock Spire Ryzen 1600 Cooler or Hyper 212 Evo?

Orangeator

Okay, I have a Hyper 212 Evo from my current build. But I have a Ryzen 1600 coming in and I am for sure going to overclock it to 3.8-3.9. Question is do I use Ryzen's included stock cooler to do this, or is the Hyper 212 Evo going to perform better? And before you ask about me doing this on air, I have a meshify C with 3 140mm fans on the front as intake and another 140mm on the top front as intake. Then 2 120mm as exhaust at the back and top back. Sooo... Air flow is what I'd consider, "overkill" hehe.

Stock. I think....

Really, I'd have recommended the H5 or H7, but since you already have it...you could always try it. See which one has better temps. There's nothing wrong with air cooling even on higher end builds, some prefer it :P

212 Evo easily.

When people say the R6 1600 stock cooler is really good, they mean in comparison to other stock coolers.

Personal build >  New-ish AMD main gaming setup

PLEASE QUOTE OR @ ME FOR A RESPONSE xD

Which is better, I really like the price of that H7... Would it be sufficient for a 3.9Ghz Ryzen 1600?

Ah, the AM4 bracket for the 212 Evo is $14... So that's for sure worth it? Or just buy another cooler that includes that bracket? If so, what air cooler would you recommend?

The H7 is what like $28 right now? I'd go for that one. They're within a few degrees of each other iirc

I don't think you can get anything better than the wraith spire for that, up to you.

I have the H5 Ultimate w/ Ryzen 1600 oc'd to 3.9 Ghz @ 1.376v.

Temps even under load stay below 70 degrees, its usually in the low 60's... Idle temps as low as 27 degrees depending on ambient temps.

I was looking at the 212 EVO but I didn't seem to think it was worth it to buy new as it wasn't much improvement over the spire.. BUT seeing as you have it already and can spend 12$ to make it fit your new build I'm sure you will be able to hit 3.8-3.9 with it.  You could always add an extra fan to the 212... might help with an additional 1-3 degrees of cooling and give you slightly more stability at higher temps/clocks.
