Friend Built PC, made Interesting Mistake

So my friend built his fresh Ryzen 1600 system, and booted it but forgot to plug in the power to the GPU for the first time. Obviously, stupid mistake. But now, it wont turn off, even with a 10 second power button hold-down so he can get power to the GPU. What should he do?

FYI: Specs are as follows

Ryzen 5 1600

16GB DDR4

Asrock AB350 Pro4

R9 280X (He will be replacing soon)

How long did you leave it? Just let it do its thing for a bit, and after that if it still refuses to turn off, shut it off from behind by flicking the button on the PSU. It won't hurt it, that's what it's there for.

Are you trying to use the front IO to turn it off? Maybe he forgot to plug that in too xD

done this before so youre noe the only one.

I unplugged the computer, plugged in the GPU power and turned the machine back on. The only thing you have to worry about killing in a sudden power outage is data, of which this new build has none of.

Ok, thanks guys. He has done that, but atm the PC isnt booting at all. The fans and stuff are spinning, but there is no display output, and yes he is outputting from the graphics card

I am going to assume this is AFTER he has finally plugged in the GPU power.

Clear the motherboards CMOS next.

Yes, that is correct.

How would you go about with a CMOS reset? Semi-detailed steps would be best

He is new at this, and is working off of a Ryzen build guide video and my help over text. He forgot to plug in CPU power, so currently giving it another go with that fixed.
