Laptop purely for school work and internet browsing

Hey guys just checking which one of these laptops would be better for me?

So far, I've narrowed it down to 3 options:

ASUS UX310UA ZenBook 13.3" 7th Gen Core i5 Laptop - https://www.centrecom.com.au/asus-ux310ua-133-fhd-intel-7th-gen-core-i5-laptop $1245 AUD / $941 USD

Asus Zenbook UX310UA FHD Intel Core i3 Laptop - https://www.centrecom.com.au/asus-zenbook-ux310ua-fhd-intel-core-i3-laptop $899 AUD / $680 USD

Asus Vivobook Slim K405UA 14'' HD Intel Core i5 Laptop - Dark Grey - https://www.centrecom.com.au/asus-vivobook-slim-k405ua-14-hd-intel-core-i5-laptop-dark-grey  $899 AUD / $680 USD

I'm going to be using the laptop for schoolwork and internet browsing, and battery life and size are something which I would like to be on the good end of the scale. Also, if there are any other laptops I should consider please let me know.

Thanks guys :)

Btw my budget is roughly 700-750 USD or $800-$1000 AUD but I included the UX310UA with the i5 for comparision

I would go for the K405UA due to two things:

More RAM for an improved Multitasking experience on the web (I know how it feels)

The better processor that features Turbo Boost for improved power management.

Checked the Dell's slim series?

I do however think you should check these out if you haven't already, they are very good value

Get a laptop with KB-R CPU, the old ULV CPUs has ancient performance

Vivobooks have poor battery life and their build quality is just OKish. Same goes to Dell thin and light Inspiron laptops except for XPS lineup.

Desktop specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB Gigabyte B550M DS3H mATX

Asrock Challenger Pro OC Radeon RX 6700 XT Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8Gx2) 3600MHz CL18 Kingston NV2 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD

ye that was a big thing for me as well size and battery its why i was leaning towards the ux310UA even though it has a i3. So do you think that would be a good option for me? Again, im using it purely for schoolwork and light internet browsing (i have a pc :) )

IMO the ULV i3 has very poor performance and will be outdated very fast. If you don't mind that then it's a good option.

Are there any laptops with Kaby Lake Refresh CPU that are within your budget?

Only go for Zenbooks, don't buy other series. For instance, Vivobooks have poor battery life and a few minor build quality issues. ROG line also has many build quality issues like material used and cooling solution, and they are generally overpriced

Could you consider other models from other brands too?

In that case i might try to push and get the i5 zenbook then. Gonna have to work a few extra shifts but it should be worth it. is there anything else you recommend? (im kinda joking on the fanboy bit i just want something thats best for me )

Look for Zenbooks with 8250U or 8550U CPU and without dGPU, generally they are all good laptops no matter which model (that ends with 'UA')

Could you provide me some websites so that I can search for the best laptop for you?

https://www.harveynorman.com.au

https://www.centrecom.com.au

https://www.scorptec.com.au

These are the only websites with stuff that isn't pre skylake stuff. My budget again is about $1000 max since these websites should be in AUD.

Thanks again for your help btw :)

Try finding Acer Aspire 5 with 8250U CPU (not to be confused with Aspire E15)
