DDR2 667MHZ Performance Questions

I have a little project I'm doing, but I ended up jumping on a cheap 1U server. Im doing some upgrades, but before I do I might be regretting this purchase. It uses ddr2 and I can do 8x8 for 64gigs of ecc ram. Now I know this isnt ideal, but How bad will this be for gaming? Could I stick with 8x4(32gig), or is more better in a slow ram situation? Also upgrading 2 CPUs to Intel Xeon X5470. And If anyone can find me a 1050ti single slot with no power connect in the US, It would be appreciated. If not for gaming, I might use it to handle the streaming for my project

(And No the project isnt twitch streaming its basically private cloud gaming so 1080p 30 or 60 will work)

Honestly, just like today, RAM speed isn't super important. Any RAM you pick up will be fast enough for the CPU to not meaningfully impact gaming performance.

Im not an expert in Server hardware, but i had a desktop with 8gb ddr2. My CPU was a Core2Duo e8400 and 8gb of ddr2 and i could game quite well and i saw no drawbacks vs ddr3 on the same CPU.

Specs:

 Gaming PC: i5 3570, 16GB 1600MHz, GTX 780 3GB, Transcend 128GB, WD 500GB, Seagate 500GB, Thermaltake 600W Smart, S340 w/ RGB, Windows 10 Pro

 Server: Xeon E5 2650, 12GB 1600MHz ECC, 8400GS, WD 2TB + 1TB + 1TB, EVGA 500B 500W, Windows 10 Pro

 Laptop: Macbook Pro Retina 2013, i7 4558U, 8GB 1600MHz, Intel Iris Pro 1.5GB, Apple 256GB NVME, Mojave

 Internet: $70/month For 500/100, Actually get 525/102

Its just been YEARS since I've used less than 1600 mhz, I know it doesnt matter much, the fact that it barely matters at all baffles me. Thank you.

It's all about latency. This page explains it pretty well. http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/memory-performance-speed-latency

DDR2 667 is only a nanosecond or two slower than DDR4 at 2666. Now bandwidth on the 2666 part is much higher but that's a little less important.
