Moving my build (maximus x hero mobo) into the dark base 700. The front panel connectors  have something marked Pled which I've never used. There's a positive and negative, but the motherboard manual doesn't specify which is which - it only specifies this on the HDDLed.

My question is, what if I plug them in wrong? I have a 50/50 chance of being right. One thing I will point out is that all the other 3 connectors face down - so if I will try it at random, it'll be facing the same way as the others.

It is just the power led. It indicates if your system is on.

It's an LED.

Yes polarity does matter.

If he plugs it in wrong it won't turn on.

That's fine then - but it won't short anything?

But will it short anything if I do plug it in wrong? Worried about killing that port.

No, but it's always possible to damage the LED so just try to see if one of the pins is marked + or -

The pins are marked, but my point is the motherboard doesn't specify which header the + goes into and which the - goes into.

What motherboard is it?

EDIT: nevermind, I apparently forgot how to read.

EDIT2: Check on the actual board to see if there's a positive indicator labelled by the connector. I'd expect it to be the same as the HDLED, where the positive pin is the one on the left, but as you said the PLED isn't actually marked in the manual.
